The exhibition proposes a suggestive and long awaited reading of the artistic production of the French-German artist Jean (Hans) Arp (1886–1966), whose experimental approach to the creation and radical rethinking of traditional art forms made him one of the artists most influential of the twentieth century. During a career spanning over six decades, Arp produced a corpus of high-impact works in multiple materials and formats. Arp was one of the founders of the Dada movement and pioneer of abstraction, he developed a vocabulary of organic forms that move fluidly between abstraction and representation, and quickly became a reference point for several generations of artists. The exhibition is organized by the Nasher Sculpture Center of Dallas, the first exhibition venue of the exhibition.
