The
Hotel
We
are in the heart of Venice, a short walk from St.
Mark's Square, the Academy of Fine
Arts, the Fenice theatre, Palazzo Grassi and Ca'
Rezzonico. Decidedly among the most outstanding
of 3 star hotels in Venice. What is now Hotel Ala
was in fact a proprietarily house, of which historical
traces exist from the early eighteenth century,
as can be seen on paintings, including one by Canaletto.
The building was made into a hotel only in the 1960s
and it has been managed by the Salmaso family for
over 15 years. From St. Mark's Square, walking towards
"Accademia's Bridge" you will arrive in
"Campo Santa Maria del Giglio", also known
as "Zobenigo" in memories of a patrician
family, a little square very suggestive close to
Canal Grande and St. Maria's Church that gives the
name to the district.
Is in this corner of Venice that is located Hotel
Ala, completely renovated as in the common areas
as in the bedrooms but still maintaining an unequalled
Venetian charm thanks to its hall floor made precious
by some "glass murrine" settled in and
some handmade stucco in '700 Venetian style.
A
marble stair going up to the first floor where starts
the west home wing and a large and marvelous Venetian
chandelier created by Giorgio Ferro, a famous glassmaker
master, complete the atmosphere.
Hotel Ala
is composed by two different wings for a total of
85 bedrooms, which have been renovated recently
with all modern comforts and '800 and '900 furniture,
lacquered Venetian "barocchetto" so is
a pleasant and charming hotel with a special atmosphere
and thanks to its management our guests will enjoy
their staying in Venice and will appreciate the
comfortable position of this place.
